Pulley Blocks and Sheaves for Decoking Systems

Pulley Blocks and Sheaves for Decoking Systems

The Saptora cutting assembly uses a four-block pulley system designed to Flowserve specifications for safe and efficient lifting:

  1. Guide Block: Directs the wire rope from the base toward the lead block at the top of the tower.

  2. Lead Block: Redirects the rope to the horizontal plane.

  3. Crown Block: Guides the rope down toward the traveling block.

  4. Traveling Block: Connected to the crosshead, enabling lifting and lowering of the cutting assembly with precision and safety.

This arrangement ensures smooth operation, accurate alignment, and reliable handling of the cutting tools.

Features & Benefits

  • Saptora pulley blocks are attached to the crosshead and tower structure using custom-designed hanger plates for secure and precise installation.

    • Standard sheave size: 14 in (other sizes and load ratings available for specific unit requirements)

    • Crown block option: “In-drum” tool position indication, consisting of a NEMA 7 enclosure, local hoist console indicator, and special probes for accurate tool tracking within the drum.

This design ensures safe operation, flexibility, and precise monitoring of the cutting assembly.
